Weddings take so much planning and preparation...finding the dress, renting the tux, booking the venue, sending invitations, the bridal shower, the bachelor/bachelorette parties, selecting the flowers, decor and design, hair and makeup, the DJ; There is a lot that goes into planning a wedding, or any event for that matter. I have first-hand knowledge because I was a DIY bride. From beginning to end, I was involved in every detail. I've actually always been involved in planning and decor details as the go-to person for family and friends events, but it was not until after my wedding that I realized being an event planner and decorator is what I was meant to do. And yes it's hard work, but I find that I enjoy all the planning and preparation, the styling, researching venues, meeting vendors, styling the flower arrangements...I enjoy it all!
But most of all, I enjoy what happens when all the planning and styling is done, when all the details are tended to, everything is in place, and it's time for the event. It's seeing all the smiling faces, people dancing, the "I do's", the "happy birthday's". It's knowing that I had a part in creating a special moment in someone's life and the lives of their family and friends; it's watching people enjoy the space they are in. That's what it's all about. That's why I love what I do!
